Get out and hear some great live music by our fellow Boston-area musicians.

Thursday,  August 3rd at Devlin’s

332 Washington St. Brighton, MA

Hosted by Tim Ko.

9pm – Billy “The Kid” Claiborne

After fronting for various bands throughout New England for more than 40 years ( The Bailey Brothers Band, Southbound, The Subheds, The NutGrafs ) Billy “The Kid” Claiborne is going it alone. Billy draws on his country roots, combining them with ample doses of folk, rock, and pop.

10pm – Conor Ryan Hennessey

We guess Mr. Hennessy’s a folk singer. He aim’s to write, sing and borrow songs that challenge people while making them maybe laugh about it. He currently lives in Brighton, MA. He hopes to write like Guthrie, Sing like Broonzy and drink like Ronnie Drew.

Friday, August 18th at Tommy Doyle’s

349 Watertown St., Newton, MA

9:30 – Casey LJ

Casey’s repertoire spans Country, Soul, Popular, Jazz Standards and originals with a singular American feel. Spanning a century of the American songbook, these are songs you know and love, whether you know it yet or not. Casey’s guitar and vocal renderings engage your ear with intricacy and nuance.

10:30 – Working Still

Bourbon smooth harmonies, whiskey tinged licks and rye lyrics boil down to create a barrel-aged, soul-soothing, hip-moving, body-shaking, earth quaking, rock-n-roll revival!

Thursday,  August 24th at Devlin’s

332 Washington St. Brighton, MA

Hosted by Tim Ko.

9pm – Jocelyn Limmer

A compulsive storyteller, Jocelyn Limmer has been writing in the third person for almost as long as she’s been playing music. She first began writing songs at age 14, when a teacher introduced her to the wonders of Tori Amos’ album “Little Earthquakes.” Almost a decade later, she released her own debut album of confessional piano-driven songs, “Hindsight.”

Her forthcoming EP, “Those Three Words,” is the result of her years in the musical melting pot of Berklee College of Music. A team effort and an expansion of her previous style, the new EP features raw, candid lyrics combined with a nostalgic, jazz-influenced sound and the musical stylings of several talented Berklee peers.

Jocelyn currently lives, writes songs, and generally processes things in Boston, MA.

10pm – Josie Lowder

Don’t miss this very talented and constantly performing singer/songwriter. Josie Lowder’s guitar work is beautiful while her vocals swoon with passionate soul. Music instructor, guitar teacher, local treasure.
