April 2015

Greetings!

This past Sunday I had the pleasure of performing on Salem State’s WMWM streaming radio with  Greg Guba. I recommend to those in our open mic community who have released music to listen in and get in touch with them.  Although, I don’t recommend going out drinking the night before a morning radio show performance ; ) woof …They are very supportive of the local music scene! Check out “Traxx of the Town” on Sunday mornings and “What’s Happening” with Aaron Bornstein on Saturday afternoons.

ACOUSTIC SHOWCASES

Come hang out to hear some live music by our friends and peers!!!

***Thursday, April 16th  at Mick Morgan’s in Newton, MA.118 Needham St. www.MickMorgans.com

8:30 - Chuck Capone
Chuck Capone has an artful way of writing songs, each word and strum of the guitar filled with meaning. Think Leonard Cohen, Roy Orbison, Declan O’Rourke. He is currently in the recording studio and we are looking forward to having our own copies of his songs!

9:30 -  In This River
In This River is a harmonic duo of acoustic, organic music.  Nick Ingrisani and Zach Cohen grew up together in New York and after some time travelling different paths have converged here in Boston, exploring the world through song and experience.  With dancing acoustic guitars and rich vocal harmonies, the songs of In This River are born of the mountains, oceans, and dreams.

9:30 - The Wagging Knives
No hags, no nags... just the swaggering, staggering, Mick Jagger-ing blues and rock n roll of Nonantum's dirtiest duo! (aka The Tommy Doyle’s House Band)

10:30 - Johnny Virginia
A staple artist at Tommy Doyle's open mic, singer/songwriter and guitarist Johnny Virginia performs a mix of original songs and cover tunes. Spanning genres from rock to blues to country to contemporary pop, Johnny excites audiences with authentic passion, soul and energy. An exceptional cajon player, he regularly provides percussion for other performers and loves jamming with the superbly talented, exceptionally convivial cadre of musicians that frequent Tommy D's Tuesday night sonic shindig.
