April 2017

***No Open Mic at Devlin's on April 17th  in lue of Patriot's Day.
Best of luck to the Marathon runners today!
See you the week after!

*** Mick Morgan’s in Newton is closing its doors!  Last Wednesday was the final surprise open mic. After 4 plus years, we’ve had many great jams and laughs. A very big thank you to all of the musicians who’ve played there and been a part of that scene. I’d like to give a special nod to those who were particularly inspiring and fanned the fires: Marilyn Kirby, Chip Highfield, Ed Long, Cam Robbins, Ken Carter, Pete Kearns, plus many more, and to all of those who performed the MM Acoustic Sessions as well. Also to Mick Morgan’s staff for their long lasting support including Finbar Griffin, Tricia Medias, Zach Semeta, Fred Huntington, John O’Brien and Joe Kearney.

*** Wed. Open Mics in Newton: Now that Mick Morgan’s is closed, there are still options on Wed. nights. Brewer’s Coalition (344 Walnut St) & Terry O’Reilly’s (45 Union St.)… ( and don’t forget about Tommy Doyle’s every Tuesday & Devlin's every Monday w/ yours truly! )

Off Label, usually a 6-piece funk/rock band that plays larger venues in Boston and Metro West, is looking forward to showing its versatility as an acoustic act at Devlin’s in Brighton. Known as the "docs who rock", Off Label, composed of mostly medical professionals, plays cover songs from your favorite bands including classic rock, 80s music, alternative, R&B, funk and new interpretations of pop. Check them out at www.offlabelband.com.

10pm - Whiskey Barrel Band

A Rock n Rollin’ rowdy outfit, pushing a train down the hill. Some bits of blues and old school country mixed in with their Americana style originals make for a great night of live music.  https://www.facebook.com/thewhiskeybarrelband/
