November 2024

*** Greetings from L.A.!

Last Thursday, Nov 7th, I flew from one side of our country to the other to attend the TAXI music conference.  I was lucky to get a window seat for this early morning flight (people with window seats that don't open the window are likely not human). It was a mostly clear day. Looking out at all of the different landscapes, places where people live and don't, spacious or crowded, provides a literal birds-eye view of a nation that is muscling through a tense time. The perspective from the plane felt a bit surreal, cerebral and certainly encompassing. The conference was great. Feel free to ask me about it.

*** NO Open Mic at Ward 4, night before Thanksgiving, Nov 27th but check out Ryan Kim and Leandro Alonso playing music from 6-9pm!

*** New Facebook Group: Music in Melrose

Music in Melrose: for those interested, we started a public facebook group that is six degrees specific to Melrose, MA. It will contain music events happening in town, bands affiliated with the town playing elsewhere, releases, open mics announcements and more... join here if interested.

Join here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/musicinmelrose

*** Zedervan... Big Happenings!!!

How great things begin... open mic's, music community, Sam Little, Micki Dupnik, Michael O'Keefe, and Mike Purtell, all met through our open mic community, eventually started playing together and formed the band "Zedervan", played some shows, and self-recorded an album, mixed by Joel Plante!

This locally based, NE touring band is putting together a new album. The crew is just nasty in the blues rock world. I know many of you have seen them play, but if not, they're certainly worth a listen. We are sharing their Indiegogo fundraising link for those that want to contribute to the project here. Lot's of unique ideas/perks for donating, as well:
